Recurring Investment Simulator (DCA)
Simulate a Dollar Cost Averaging (DCA) investment strategy. See how regular periodic investments would have performed over time.
- Investment Amount: Fixed amount invested at each interval
- Frequency: Choose monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, or annually
- Commissions: Fee deducted from each investment (fixed or percentage)
- Average Cost: Average cost per share across all purchases
- Avg. Annual Growth: annualized growth of the final value over total contributions, as if the whole amount had been invested on day one. It understates the true return of a recurring plan, where each contribution is invested only for its remaining time
- IRR (Money-Weighted): the annualized internal rate of return of the actual cash flows — each contribution weighted by the time it stayed invested. This is the figure to compare with other investments
Note: Dividends are not reinvested in this simulation.
